Päivi Räsänen, a member of the Finnish Parliament, was found guilty by Finland’s Supreme Court of inciting hatred after she described homosexuality as “a disorder of the human psyche” in a pamphlet first written in 2004 and later shared online. The court ruled that her statement was insulting and fined her €1,800 ($2,062), even though lower courts had earlier cleared her of the charges.
