A man was arrested after reportedly being spotted with a knife outside a school. Cambridge Regional College was briefly closed following the incident this morning (Wednesday, September 3).
Cambridgeshire Police were called to the scene at 10.36am and the school was shut as a precaution. No one was injured and the school has since reopened.
Police said: “We were called to Cambridge Regional College at 10.36am with reports of a man just outside the college grounds who had been seen with a knife.
“The school closed as a precaution and officers attended and searched the area. One man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a knife in a public place and is currently en route to custody.
“No-one was injured, enquiries are ongoing and the college is likely to re-open shortly.”
