OTTAWA (LifeSiteNews) – Even though Canada is more than a trillion dollars in debt, Prime Minister Mark Carney boldly proclaimed that his Liberal government’s upcoming 2025 budget will include millions more in taxpayer money for “SLGBTQI+ communities” and “gender” equality and “pride” safety.
“To build Canada strong, we have to protect and empower each other. Budget 2025 will ensure organisations that address gender-based violence, protect 2SLGBTQI+ communities, and empower women in leadership roles, have the funding they need to continue their vital work,” Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms president John Carpay wrote in a X post on Wednesday.
When broken down, the Liberal government says it will “increase” ongoing funding of $660.5 million over five years for “the Department for Women and Gender Equality,” which claims “will ensure sustained progress toward equality and safety for women, girls, and 2SLGBTQI+ people.”
Included in the budget is $382.5 million over five years, starting in 2026-27, “with $76.5 million ongoing, to revitalise and stabilise efforts to advance women’s equality in Canada, including by improving women’s and girls’ economic security and participation in leadership roles, for example through the Women’s Economic and Leadership Opportunities Fund.”
Approximately $10.9 million will go “to support 2SLGBTQI+ communities,” with “$7.5 million over five years, and with $1.5 million ongoing for Pride Security.”
The Carney government plans to table the budget on November 4. However, it will need support from at least one other party for it to pass. Otherwise, it could fail and lead to a snap election.
Rumors have swirled that all opposition parties plan to vote against the budget, meaning a Christmas election is possible.
The Carney Liberals hold 169 seats in the House of Commons, only three short of a majority government.
It remains unknown if the Liberal budget will include its plan to strip pro-life charities and places of worship of their charitable status that was proposed last December under former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
As reported by LifeSiteNews, Carney has a daughter who identifies as non-binary. Since 2015, the Liberal government, first under and now under Carney, has a history of promoting anti-life and anti-family agendas, including abortion and LGBT-related efforts.
Recently, U.S. President Donald Trump openly blasted the “woke” extreme transgender ideology of men in women’s sports and genital mutilation surgery of minors while Carney was in the White House.
