(LifeSiteNews) — Catholic Answers apologist Trent Horn and his wife Laura announced today they are seeking prayers for her brain cancer surgery scheduled for Wednesday, July 23.
Horn, a popular apologist, posted a video with his wife Laura today where they discuss the surprise cancer diagnosis and how their faith has helped them get through this difficult time. The couple have three children, and Laura is only 34 years old.
The Horns are asking for the intercession of Venerable Aloysius Schwartz, an American Catholic priest who dedicated his life to taking care of the poor and needy. Fr. Schwartz died of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which is also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. The requested prayer can be found here and is reprinted at the bottom of this article.
“The biggest way people can help is by sharing this prayer request to Ven. Al Schwartz,” Trent Horn wrote on X. “And just prayers in general.”
Other Catholic commentators called for prayers for the Horn family.

The Horns request people say the following prayer:

As members of your body, we implore you to pour abundant grace upon Laura, her entire family, and all her caregivers during this difficult time. Through the intercession of Venerable Aloysius Schwartz, we ask for the miraculous and complete healing and a lifelong remission for Laura. May the faith and Christian example of Ven. Aloysius Schwartz be spread throughout the earth, and may all glory be given to You, our Eternal King and Lord of our lives. Amen.
