Charlie Kirk honored at vigils and rallies across the globe after his death


(LifeSiteNews) — Christian conservative influencer Charlie Kirk is being honored at rallies and vigils across the globe after his death in places as far-flung as the UK and South Korea.

“We are Charlie Kirk!” South Koreans can be heard chanting during an anti-Chinese Communist Party protest, video footage posted to X shows. The protesters held up signs reading, “We are Charlie Kirk” on one side and “Chinese no visa entry = Security threat” on the other.

​​In the UK during a massive “Unite the Kingdom” rally organized by political activist Tommy Robinson, demonstrators chanted “Charlie!” in Kirk’s honor, and Robinson held a minute of silence to revere his memory.

In several cities across Australia during anti-government corruption demonstrations, protesters brought signs and shirts emblazoned with Kirk’s name and face. The Australian ABC News reported that demonstrators held moments of silence to honor the conservative influencer. 

In Madrid, Spain, a moment of silence for Kirk was held in front of the U.S. embassy.

In Berlin, Germany, locals held a candlelight vigil for Kirk, also in front of their U.S. embassy.

New Zealanders were filmed performing an indigenous ceremonial dance, called a Haka, in honor of Kirk. Behind the performers, demonstrators held up photos of Kirk.

Vigils for Kirk were held throughout the U.S., including at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. and in Seaford on Long Island, New York.

In other places throughout the world such as Brazil, South Africa, and Italy, posters of Kirk and flowers were set up at U.S. embassies to commemorate the American hero.

The death of Kirk, an evangelical Christian, has not only deeply touched many across the globe but has inspired a significant number to go to Church and explore or embrace Christianity.

Kirk was extraordinarily influential both politically and culturally. He has been credited with helping Donald Trump secure a second term as president and is also known for respectfully engaging students on campuses across the country about a wide variety of issues, including abortion, Christianity, and the Constitution.

He reportedly was recently attending Catholic Mass with his wife and children and had said he wanted to be remembered for “courage for my faith.”
