It is hard to believe that the wound would be survivable, but we can pray.

Sorry to see he is still alive.
I knew Charlie a little, he was a good guy who did more than anyone else to bring common sense conservative messages to young people. If he is in fact dead, as seems highly probable, it is impossible to imagine the magnitude of the reaction we will see from conservatives. My own mood is one of white-hot anger.
We will report further as more facts become known.
UPDATE: MSNBC suggests that the shot may have come from a supporter of Kirk’s who fired his gun in celebration:
