Chip and Joanna Gaines have sold out to the LGBT agenda – and they are proud of it

(LifeSiteNews) — I’m never surprised when a Christian celebrity suddenly begins to embrace the LGBT agenda. All the incentives of the entertainment industry pull in one direction, and to refuse to participate in the promotion of LGBT ideology is to be faced with constant pressure and incessant accusations of bigotry not for what you are saying, but for what you are not saying. But I am occasionally surprised by how cheaply some are willing to sell their convictions.

As we reported back in July, the reality TV stars Chip and Joanna Gaines of HGTV’s “Fixer-Upper” had, for years, pushed back against attempts to affirm LGBT ideology. Their new reality show “Back to the Frontier,” however, featured a gay couple and their two boys as one of the families trying to make it in the wilderness in 1881 conditions. The show is on their Magnolia Network… but was produced in partnership with HBO Max.

In response to criticism from Christian fans, Chip Gaines responded with classic shut-up tactics, posting on X on July 13: “Talk, ask qustns, listen.. maybe even learn. Too much to ask of modern American Christian culture. Judge 1st, understand later/never. It’s a sad sunday when ‘non believers’ have never been confronted with hate or vitriol until they are introduced to a modern American Christian.” He then quoted 1 Peter 3:15 at his critics to condemn their lack of “gentleness and respect.”

The gay couple, meanwhile, came out in support of Chip and Joanna, and in doing so inadvertently affirmed the criticism. “Representation matters deeply — especially for those who are still finding the courage to live their truth,” they wrote. “When families like ours are visible, it opens doors for others to feel safe, loved, and validated. Visibility isn’t just about being seen; it’s about making sure no one feels alone.”

In short, putting a motherless family—those two boys do have mothers, as all children do—on TV normalizes deliberately motherless families, as well as the concept of same-sex “marriage.” That, in so many words, was precisely the point that former fans of Chip and Joanna were making. LGBT activists get it; former Christian fans get it; I suspect that Chip Gaines gets it, too. He was just playing dumb to avoid addressing or explaining the clear compromise he and his wife decided to make.

Now, Chip and Joanna have produced another show that highlights their new convictions and their new commitments. Roller Jam, which came out last year on their Magnolia Network, “includes significant LGBTQ messaging, leading the prominent gay culture magazine Out to call it ‘the LGBTQ+ roller skating reality show we never knew we needed’” and is “hosted by Jordin Sparks, a vocal supporter of the LGBTQ+ community. When she’s not posting half-naked pictures of herself on Instagram, she’s performing at LGBTQ+ pride events, joining campaigns like GLAAD.”

One of the judges, Johnny Weir, is a flamboyant queer activist who spends much of the show in female clothes:

According to Joanna Gaines, producing the show was “a dream come true for me” and she stated that it is a show that “the whole family can watch together.” Her standards, obviously, have changed. Not that long ago, “family friendly” didn’t involve cross-dressers and LGBT activists—but to be fair to the Gaines couple, their definition of “family” has changed, too. The first show was a sign that their convictions were shifting. The second is evidence that their transition is complete, and they are unapologetically proud of it.

It is worth noting that last year—before all of this—Chip and Joanna Gaines were worth an estimated $50 million. They decided to sell out when they were already fabulously wealthy. They didn’t need the money, but they decided to join the LGBT propaganda revolution anyhow.
