CNN Stunned by New Polling on How Bad Things Are for Dems, Then Hakeem Jeffries Makes It Even Worse – RedState

Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL) threw a fit last week when she was asked about a recent focus group survey in which Democrats are defined as “sloths” and “tortoises,” as well as “deer in the headlights,” when compared to Republicans, who were viewed by voters as “lions, tigers, and sharks.”

She was dismissing what the voters were thinking. That’s the real problem with the Democrats. – they’re not listening or caring about what the voters want or what they are thinking. All the Democrats are thinking about is their power.

That focus group of voters wasn’t good for the Democrats.

However, the new polling from CNN is even worse for the Democrats. CNN political director and Washington bureau chief David Chalian explained the numbers to host Manu Raju.

Which party is the party with strong leaders? Only 16 percent of Americans think Democrats have strong leaders, and 40 percent think Republicans do.

Which is the party that gets things done? Nineteen percent say Democrats, 36 percent say Republicans.

As CNN pointed out, it’s far worse for the Democrats. The only place Democrats are ahead is in the “party of the middle class” number, but CNN termed it a “tie.” That’s bad for Democrats because that’s what they’re always pitching; the majority of people aren’t buying it.

But it gets even more dismal when you look at what Democrat voters/leaners think about the Democratic Party.

Chalian noted how only 32 percent of Democrat voters/leaners believe their party is the party of strong leaders, while 82 percent of Republicans think that about the Republican Party. Only 41 percent of Democrats/leaners think they are the party that gets things done, 77 percent of Republicans.

Those are killer numbers that likely explain in part why Democrats lost: their people don’t believe in them, so why should they bother to come out to vote for them?

CNN’s Dana Bash asked House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) about the poll. His weak response shows how accurate the poll is. Even Dana put him on the spot, saying he was “one of those leaders.”

Jeffries went into the “we’re working to bring costs down” routine, despite things going up under Joe Biden. Bash told him they’re “frustrated with you.” He said they’re “frustrated with the system.” Um, Hakeem? Who has been running the system until recently? You guys.

It’s that kind of non-answer answer that makes people more angry, and why Democrats have such low numbers. He confirms how on target that poll is.
