The Acting Administrator of the TSA (Transportation Security Administration), Ha Nguyen McNeill, may have been born at night, but as the old saying goes, it wasn’t last night.
That’s a mistaken impression that Democrat Rep. Dan Goldman (NY-10) apparently had during the Wednesday hearing of the Homeland Security subcommittee about the Department of Homeland Security’s ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) agents backing up TSA at some airports amid the government shutdown. But we need to back this bus up a minute.

The Republican-chaired hearing featured some frightening and truly damning (for Dems) testimony on how the Left’s strictly political ploy keeping DHS closed for 40 days and counting, is harming our nation’s security apparatus in several ways.
In one exchange, Administrator McNeill told Republican Rep. Andrew Garbarino (NY-02) it is already affecting the effectiveness of her agency’s providing enough security at the upcoming global FIFA soccer tournament being held in the United States in 2026
TSA Acting Administrator McNeill tells @RepGarbarino that adequate staffing is essential but at risk ahead of the #FIFAWorldCup:
“It takes a TSO four to six months to be fully certified in all functions to operate a checkpoint. And so at this point, if we bring on any new TSOs,… pic.twitter.com/0DiGtVS2Hz

Another GOP member asked her—point blank—just how damaging the Schumer Shutdown 3.0 has been to safeguarding the homeland and all Americans. McNeill said that “[since 9/11] every day, we assess the risk posture” for terror threats, and this has been a roadblock to their crucial work:

Are American lives endangered by the Democrats’ nonsensical, 40-day political stunt? Subcommittee Chair Rep. Michael Guest (R-MS-03) asked top agency officials, including McNeill, Infrastructure Security Agency Administrator Nick Andersen, and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) head, Victoria Barton, that question.
Subcommittee Chair @RepMichaelGuest asked agency witnesses whether America is less safe due to the long-term impacts of the Democrat DHS shutdown:@TSA‘s Ha Nguyen McNeill: “We are really concerned about our security posture”@CISAgov‘s Nick Andersen: “The threat environment is… pic.twitter.com/zWxKB9GCxE

Their answers are not a good look for Democrats, especially heading into the midterm elections:
Subcommittee Chair @RepMichaelGuest asked agency witnesses whether America is less safe due to the long-term impacts of the Democrat DHS shutdown:
@TSA‘s Ha Nguyen McNeill: “We are really concerned about our security posture”@CISAgov‘s Nick Andersen: “The threat environment is too dynamic to allow this shutdown to continue on.”@fema‘s Victoria Barton “We are crippling our disaster response and recovery abilities by the day.”

Democrats Are Intent on Airport Strife for Travelers As ICE Agents Alleviate the Manufactured Crisis
The Dems did not disappoint, as I hinted earlier, in continuing to show their real motives on harassing Trump 47 administration officials ad nauseum with their dangerous rhetoric about ICE.
During Wednesday’s hearing, Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY-10) tried to spring a gotcha question on Admininstrator McNeill, asking whether she would rather have TSA employees getting paychecks or have ICE agents working in airports.
If you have a quesy stomach, readers, be warned. This is gross.
Watch:
At today’s @HomelandGOP hearing on DHS, Ms. McNeill from @TSA said she is thankful that ICE has helped alleviate the burden TSA is facing as we are in the third shutdown of this fiscal year.

In this case, she did not fall for it. And while it’s a challenge to narrow down the most repulsive Democrat in Congress, Goldman could well be in the runner-up spot to Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA-14).
In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, my colleage Ben Smith reported that the slimiest of congresscritters, the detestable Swalwell, who wants to slither his way from the lower chamber to the Golden State’s governor’s mansion, might have some legal woes to worry about. (see: Eric Swalwell Campaign Funneled Over $300K to Criminal Defense Attorneys, Filings Show)
Could not be happening to a more worthy person, I say.
