It was just recently in April that I wrote a story about Democrats wishing that Joe Biden would just fade off into the woodwork and stop making appearances that remind the electorate of how diminished he has become.
Report: Democrats Just Want Joe Biden to Go Away Already
Ole Joe didn’t evidently get the memo, however, as he doubled down by appearing on ABC’s gabfest “The View” on Thursday and also did an interview with the BBC. Both were sad, mumbling presentations, as the former president at times didn’t seem to know where he was and frequently had a vacant “there’s no one home” look in his eyes. I don’t say that because I enjoy shaming an octogenarian for his apparent mental struggles—it’s his team, especially wife Jill, that I blame for continuing to trot him out there like a circus act.
Democrats are getting increasinlgly frustrated with Biden’s refusal to let go of the limelight because they know one thing: his inability to make a cogent point without the former First Lady’s assistance is a continuing reminder of how they lied through their teeth to us for years and tried to convince America that this man was in any sort of condition to remain as commander-in-chief of the most powerful nation in the world. Shameless.
“Obama Bro.” and “Pod Save America” host Jon Favreau isn’t holding back:
“The answer is, he shouldn’t have run for a second term. And when he did run for a second term, he should have stepped down much earlier after the debate, and his close advisers shouldn’t have told him to run again, and they shouldn’t have told him he was going to win,” Favreau, a former top aide to then-President Obama, said during a Friday episode of his “Pod Save America” podcast.
He had more (warning: profanity):
“I think that every Democratic politician, particularly those who want to lead the party and want to run in 2028, have to just rip the [expletive] Band-Aid off,” Favreau added.

Joe Biden’s Disgusting Attack on the American People During ‘The View’ Interview (VIP)
But the “Obama Bros.” over at “Pod Save America” aren’t the only ones freaking about Biden’s lingering and unwanted presence. Here’s a former official right out of Biden’s administration:
“Elections are about the future. Every time Joe Biden emerges, we fight an old war,” Democratic strategist and former Biden administration official Anthony Cole told The Hill. “Every interview he does provides a contrast to Trump that’s just not helpful for the Democratic brand, which needs trusted messengers and fighters who can reach independents and moderates and inspire the base. Joe Biden ain’t that.”
Here’s yet another Biden supporter who admits this schtick just ain‘t working:
Steve Schale, a longtime Biden ally who helped run a pro-Biden super PAC in recent election cycles, urged Biden to emphasize his “humanity” over public appearances that highlight his decline.
“There is a way for President Biden to build his post-presidency, but this isn’t it,” Schale asserted. “I really wish he’d embrace the thing that’s been his calling card for 50 years: his humanity.”
I’d debate the “humanity” argument—because I don’t buy it—but that’s for another article.
I just can’t help but wonder: what the heck is in it for Joe Biden to keep showing up and reminding us of exactly why his fellow Dems all but forced him to step away from his reelection campaign? Does he want to somehow get back in power? Not going to happen. Does he need more money? It certainly doesn’t seem like it since he owns two houses in Delaware and enjoys all the perks of a former president.
It’s hard to come away with any other conclusion than this: Lady Macbeth Jill Biden just can’t resist the glow of the lights and the sound of applause that she—and not the former president—received during “The View” episode. As much as I deplored Biden’s record as president and his endless spewing of toxic, hateful rhetoric, it’s still unconformable to watch a shell of a man stare into space as he’s supposedly conducting an interview.
The exit’s on the left, Mr. Biden. Take it.
