Dems Aren’t Going to Like What This Poll Has to Say About Fighting Iran

The most recent Harvard-Harris poll had some intriguing elements, and you have to think the Democrats aren’t going to like them.

We’ve seen constant doom posting from them and from the liberal media about Operation Epic Fury. If you believed what they’re spewing out, you would think that we were losing badly and President Donald Trump had given up, when the reality is that we’ve been having unparalleled military success. Yes, there’s more than just military success involved, but they’re largely ignoring that. Indeed, if Iran is influenced by what they say, they may be quite deluded and make bad decisions.

But according to Harvard-Harris, the American people have not been taken in by the narrative.

76 percent believe that the U.S. is winning, 24 percent think Iran is. Even among Democrats, a big majority think we’re winning: 66 percent.

Then came the money question: Do you support or oppose undertaking the military airstrikes on Iran?

51 percent support the strikes, 49 percent are opposed. So it’s tight, but they support it. If you look at the age breakdown, it’s the older folks over 35 generally who support it, although there’s a weird blip in the 45-54 age group. But it’s the folks who know the history because they lived through some of it. The older folks know all the years of terrorism since 1979. Now, it says “airstrikes” — so opinions might change if ground attacks are involved. But it is also likely to change more to the positive if the Trump administration settles the Strait question, which would then cool the markets.

So, given those markets and the Iran conflict, you might think that the generic ballot for the Republicans might be tanking big time. But that was another surprising number.  In a midterm year, it generally tends to favor the party out of power. But even with the various issues, the Democrats were just barely ahead; the numbers were still remarkably close.

Republicans have to be encouraged by that. If Trump brings back success against Iran and that has a positive economic rebound, that could boost the Republicans.

Oh, and in case there was any doubt (and there should not have been) — a significant majority of the American people support the SAVE America Act, and a mammoth majority support voter ID in general.

Editor’s Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
