DHS Sec. Kristi Noem Drops Facts, Cooks Walz and Frey During Presser on MN Anti-ICE Incident – RedState

As RedState reported, there was a leftist blockade attempt earlier in a Minnesota neighborhood that turned violent after an anti-ICE agitator appeared to hit an agent conducting immigration enforcement operations with her SUV, resulting in shots being fired that left the woman dead.

The woman has been identified as 37-year-old Renee Good.

In the aftermath of the incident, Democrats in the state went nuts in fanning the flames, with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Gov. Tim Walz both blaming ICE for what happened without bothering to wait for (nor actually caring about) the actual facts. Walz even announced he’ll call in the National Guard if the agitators he, Frey, and others have whipped up with their wild and irresponsible claims start rioting a la the 2020 George Floyd riots.

During an early evening press conference, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem set the record straight and cooked Walz and Frey in the process, not only by laying out what actually happened, but also by dropping some inconvenient facts about Minneapolis and Minnesota under Frey’s and Walz’s failed leadership.

In the below clip, Noem started off by pointing out that both she and Walz once served in Congress at the same time, and were also governors of neighboring states at the same time at one point. Noem also revealed that both Minneapolis and the state of Minnesota had refused to work with DHS amid the enforcement operations, which she insinuated was rather strange considering they were being conducted to make streets safer for American citizens:

“We’ve NEVER had a cooperative arrangement with law enforcement here…We haven’t had the cooperation of the state of Minnesota…”

“If you talk to ANY of these federal law enforcement officers, they’ll say that when you call for back-up…it’s hit and miss.”

Noem also blasted Walz and Frey by pointing to the rise in crime during their time in office and how the lack of cooperation with DHS contributed to those stats. “That’s why we are here,” she stated.

Noem also shared that the woman in the SUV had been “stalking and impeding” the agents during the course of the day:

She also pointed out that the officer did what he was trained to do in such situations:

“It’s very clear that this individual was harassing and impeding law enforcement operations. Our officer followed his training, did exactly what he’s been taught to do in that situation, and took actions to defend himself and defend his fellow law enforcement officers.”

Something really important that Noem pointed to was the fact that this was not an isolated incident, that vehicle rammings were regular occurrences during immigration enforcement operations, something we saw here in Charlotte as well during “Operation Charlotte’s Web” in November, which RedState wrote about at the time:

Sec. Kristi Noem says that just TODAY, there have been four ramming attacks on federal officers, three of which happened in Minneapolis.

“We’ve seen over 100 of these vehicle rammings happen in just recent weeks.”

Later she reveals that the ICE agent involved in this shooting had been rammed and dragged by an anti-ICE rioter last June.

Bottom line, Noem observed, is that it was imperative that agitators stop using vehicles as weapons to stop agents from doing their jobs:

This is a developing story. Stay tuned to RedState for updates.
