Donald Trump shares awkward handshake with Yvette Cooper | UK | News

Donald Trump gave Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper a lengthy handshake after touching down at Stansted airport for his second state visit to the UK.

The duo clasped hands and chatted for just over 11 seconds following his departure from Air Force One, before he was swiftly transported via Marine One to Winfield House, the US Ambassador’s residence where he will stay overnight.

Ms Cooper has previously slammed President Trump‘s “aggressive misogyny” and “appalling behaviour.”

In 2017, she penned: “We are forgetting to be disturbed by Trump, he is normalising hatred and it’s dangerous.”

And in another post in 2015, she declared: “He may like to shock, but this isn’t a game, it is irresponsible and dangerous.”, reports the Mirror.

And commenting on Theresa May prior to his UK visit in 2018, she condemned her “desperate rush to invite him, her repeated reluctance to criticise his Muslim ban or caging of children, her chasing him for a bad trade deal…For God’s sake Theresa, stand up to him today.”

The president arrived in the UK for his landmark second state visit to the nation this evening.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer is hoping to stage a spectacular show for Trump.

He will probably seek to push Trump towards a more pro-Ukrainian stance in the conflict and secure an agreement that reduces the tariff obstacles for British goods entering the US market.

Trump is set to visit the US Ambassador’s residence, Wingfield House, in London’s Regent’s Park tonight.

He will then receive a Royal salute on Wednesday morning at Windsor and will be escorted by carriage through the Windsor estate.

He will be joined by King Charles, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Princess Catherine. The path they take will be flanked by members of the armed forces.
