Donald Trump delivered a glowing compliment to Princess Kate mere moments after touching down at Windsor with his wife Melania Trump this afternoon.
The US President, 79, stepped off Marine One for his landmark state visit where he was met by the Prince and Princess of Wales. Lip-reading specialist Jeremy Freeman scrutinised the footage capturing the American leader and the First Lady’s encounter with the royals.
According to his analysis, Trump instantly expressed his admiration for the royals, particularly Kate. The POTUS, as interpreted by Jeremy, declared to Kate during their first exchange of the day: “You’re so beautiful, so.”
Trump later received a military ceremonial display outside Victoria House. You can stay updated with the latest developments from the state visit through our live blog.
Following his introductions with William and Kate, Trump, a devoted Royal enthusiast, was subsequently welcomed by King Charles and Queen Camilla whilst a Royal salute thundered from First World War-era cannons on Windsor Castle’s east lawn and at the Tower of London.
Following a guard of honour ceremony, Charles and Trump were spotted sharing hearty laughter, with the latter expressing “thanks very much” repeatedly.
The King then travelled alongside Trump in a carriage procession through the Windsor Estate. The Queen, meanwhile, accompanied Melania in a separate coach.
Trump’s arrival at the Windsor estate occurred at 12.14pm, running 20 minutes behind the anticipated schedule.
Despite receiving a highly respectful reception for his second official state visit, not all Brits were thrilled about President Trump’s arrival, with artist Maya Kar making a bold statement in Windsor.
Earlier today, Kar took to the streets to display a provocative painting that portrays Trump as a prehistoric “stone age savage” who has abducted a child-like King Charles from Windsor Castle.
Speaking to the Mirror, he said: “I depict him as a stone age hunter. He don’t know the rules. He don’t know nothing. He don’t know protocol.”
Kar didn’t hold back in his critique of Trump, stating: “He don’t know anything. He will just come and act like a[n] idiot. And make a mess.
“Make us [Brits] embarrassed and go.”
Tonight, Trump is set to attend a lavish state banquet, reminiscent of his 2019 experience when he dined with the late Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace during his inaugural state visit to the UK.
