Dubai’s financial centre was rocked by multiple explosions this morning moments before black smoke was seen rising above the city’s skyline.
The cloud of smoke was spotted near a large tower in the city’s business district, the Dubai International Financial Centre, which is known for its exclusive nightlife, with luxe clubs and restaurants alike.
Following the explosion, Dubai Media Office said: “Authorities confirm that debris from a successful interception caused a minor incident on the façade of a building in central Dubai.”
They added no injuries were reported.
Despite authorities not having specified the cause of the attack, the city has been hit with a number of Iranian drones and missiles since the war started almost two weeks ago.
Dubai International Airport has been a particular target for such attacks, causing the international travel hub to be thrown into chaos with each strike.
