All trains departing London Euston and heading to Liverpool Lime Street have been suspended following a “major fault with the signalling system in the Stafford area”. Several Avanti West Coast routes have been impacted, including journeys to/from Manchester, Liverpool, Scotland and North Wales. The company has urged people not to attempt to travel for the remainder of the day (Friday, November 21).
Avanti West Coast have issued an update on social media saying: “Departures from London Euston are suspended due to a major fault with the signalling system in the Stafford area. This affects multiple Avanti West Coast routes, including journeys to/from Manchester, Liverpool, Scotland and North Wales. Please do not attempt to travel as major disruption is expected until the end of the day.”
