Migrants are being housed in luxury hotels with four-poster beds, free food, unlimited phone access to overseas contacts, and in some cases, are caught with drugs in their rooms, according to explosive claims from a contractor who worked inside one of the sites.
In an interview with GB News, Aston Knight, a documentary maker who went undercover as a contractor revealed how hotels across the UK, funded by the taxpayer, have been turned into lawless free-for-alls where staff fear for their safety and police are called out on an almost daily basis.
He said: “They don’t get kicked out for anything. Cocaine found in the rooms? Nothing. Girls being lurched at? Nothing. It’s completely out of control.”
The whistleblower described a “racketeering” system where “everything is handed to them” including luxury accommodation in Grade II listed buildings, hot buffet meals, smart TVs and mobile phones with international calling.
In shocking footage taken at the Copthorne Hotel in West Sussex, Knight revealed that the people staying there live in luxury conditions, with bedrooms featuring four-poster beds as well as designer clothes and watches.
He said: “There are people in there with clear criminal links. Some of them arrive with no ID, then suddenly have two phones and a SIM card within days. It’s being exploited massively. And everyone inside knows it.”
He also alleged that staff are warned not to challenge migrants or speak out publicly with any attempts to raise concerns internally met with silence.
He explained: “It’s all about keeping them quiet and avoiding headlines. But if the British public saw what I saw, they’d be furious.”
Videos and photos shared with GB News show ornate bedrooms and mood lighting, hotel tables covered in takeaway wrappers, and staff allegedly too afraid to intervene in daily fights over food.
The Home Office currently uses more than 300 hotels across the country to house asylum seekers, with the cost to the taxpayer now exceeding £8million a day.

The film maker went undercover at the Copthorne Hotel
He said: “They’ve all got Uber accounts, they’re not paying for it taxpayers are paying for it. We’ve seen them ordering Ubers to the airport, Ubers to the station, Ubers to other hotels everywhere.
“Every single migrant has an Uber account paid for by the Home Office. I’ve even seen them ordering an Uber just to go to the shop round the corner, places they could easily walk.
“They’ll literally just jump in, no hesitation. There’s no sense of cost or responsibility because they’re not the ones footing the bill.”
He added: “I went around doing room checks multiple times and found white powder residue, rolled-up notes, bank cards, weed grinders all kinds of stuff. And nothing happens.

He claimed he saw drugs on the desks
“These people aren’t kicked out or arrested. They don’t phone the police. There are no consequences.”
When asked what he hoped would come from sharing his footage he said: “I just want the truth out there. The system is being played.
“It’s not about helping genuine people anymore. It’s about a network of corruption, and we’re all paying for it.”
