Full list of the 6 NatWest banks closing next week | UK | News

NatWest has scheduled the permanent closures of six of its branches next week. The expected closures concluded the high street‘s bank mass closure that has taken place throughout the year, which by the end of 2025 will see more than 100 branches cease operation.

The major decision to close branches nationwide was driven primarily by a shift in consumer habits, with more and more people transitioning to online banking and digital services.

The high street bank revealed that more than 80% of its customers use digital banking methods, with the majority of new accounts being opened online. Therefore, NatWest’s response to the “industry-wide shift” has been to review its entire network and axe the number of branches that it operates.

NatWest have considered its customers who prefer in-branch banking and says it will continue to support those who may need additional support when their local branch closes.

The bank said: “We recognise that some people still need help to adapt, particularly our vulnerable customers. Our customer support specialists proactively contact branch users who we know may need additional support when a branch closes and, where there’s a need, we install community pop-ups to help customers become familiar with alternative banking services.”

Alternative means of in-branch banking, such as Community Pop-ups and Mobile Branches, are in operation to assist those who find it challenging to use online services.

Banking Hubs that allow customers to use basic services such as making deposits and withdrawals, balance enquiries and utility bills payments are also available.
