Funny, Touching Mission Statement, ‘We Are All Charlie’ – RedState

How would you like to be remembered?

I don’t think most of us will get a big celebration of our lives in a stadium with thousands of people like Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk did on Sunday.

We would do well if we got a few people who speak with love about how we made the world better and how we may have touched their lives.

Kirk was remembered in remarks, including by President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and his wife, Erika Kirk. Erika, with great Christian charity, even forgave the man who was arrested for killing her husband.

One of the most touching eulogies – with moments of humor and a rousing mission statement – came from his friend, Donald Trump, Jr.

Don Jr. described Kirk as like a “little brother” to him.

Don Jr. led off his remarks, noting he wasn’t generally a sentimental guy and how he has gotten in trouble for posting edgy memes. He then delivered a great imitation of how his father would call him to say how he should dial it back and “relax.”

His father and the audience loved it.

He also took a funny jab at Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris, “To say that Charlie knew more about the Bible than me was an understatement. It’s like saying Donald Trump knows more about being president than Hillary Clinton or Kamala Harris. No kidding.”

Don recalled that Charlie said he wanted to be remembered for “my courage for my faith.”

He said he imagined that, like Stephen, the first Christian martyr, Charlie had the same experience being welcomed by a standing Son of God.

To see the joy in Charlie’s heart when he was with his family was “to see the Gospel lived out,” Don said.

He laid out how Kirk reached out to speak with those on the opposite side of the aisle, even after facing threats on college campuses.

Don Jr said throughout Scripture, we hear the term “Do not be afraid,” and that message of faith, family, and country could not be silenced by this horrible act of Charlie’s assassination. Charlie’s legacy had to be that “a million more Charlies stepped up to fill the void.”

“We are all Charlie,” he declared.

Trump, Jr., then laid out the mission statement going forward, listing many reasons that would be welcome to the movement, including that if you believe in God, family, and country, “You are one of us.”

He finished, “As the scripture promises, well done good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Lord.”
