Charlie Kirk has all but vanished from the Politico website. When I last checked their website, the first mention (of only 2 total) of Kirk does not appear until the 23rd item down. The assassination of the prominent conservative commentator five days ago may still rank as news for the rest of the media, but for Politico, it falls far below such important topics as rural hospitals and the New York City’s mayoral race.
Perhaps this signals a shift in Democratic media strategy. First, they tried “blame the victim,” next came “the suspect is a MAGA Trump voter,” now we’re going with, “who?”
In contrast, The Hill‘s website includes mentions of Kirk in five of its first 8 items, as I write this post.
Politico ranks #29 on this top 50 list of the most-read news websites in the U.S. topped by the New York Times. Somehow, The Drudge Report clings to the top 25 on this list. The Hill ranks at #32.
