We have entered a whole new era in our country’s political history. This is something we have written about before, but this current Rasmussen polling offers more evidence:
Trump Daily Job Approval – Full Week, Likely Voters

Women: 45%
18-39: 50%
40-64: 52%
65+: 46%
White: 49%
Black: 39%
Hispanic: 62%
Other: 51%
DEM: 24%
IND: 46%
GOP: 79% https://t.co/85Tw8zlR4U— Rasmussen Reports (@Rasmussen_Poll) May 3, 2025
Whites are a relatively weak group for President Trump, as are old people. He scores best with Hispanics, second best with Asians. Sex isn’t a big factor, although Trump is obviously more popular with men than with women. And age doesn’t matter much, either.
In other words, the Democrats’ relentless focus on “identity” is wholly misguided. “Identity” matters less than it ever has in our politics. And if Democrats think they are currying favor with Hispanics by aligning themselves with Central American gangs they are, again, entirely misguided.
I note two further grounds for optimism in this data set. First, Trump scores reasonably well with blacks at 39%. (What was Joe Biden’s approval rating among all Americans by the end of his term?) That still leaves a lot of upside. Black women, more than any other demographic, have bought into the Democrats’ “identity” nonsense. But, while they are behind the curve, they are on the same trajectory as other minorities.
Second, Rasmussen bases these numbers on a mix of 35% Democrats and 33% Republicans. Other polling I have seen suggests that these numbers could be more favorable to Republicans, in which case Trump’s numbers, as seen here, are a little low across the board.
