Yep, “Don’t mess with Texas,” as the admonition goes.
While all states have mottos or slogans, and such, I always got the impression that Texas, above all other states, means theirs. Moreover, concerning those who choose ignore said admonition, evidence suggests there will be consequences for doing so.
This brings us to the popular Republican governor of the Lone Star State, Greg Abbott.
For example, as former President Joe Biden and his serial-lying administration continued to import millions of illegal aliens into the country, Abbott — along with Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis — aggressively began busing illegals to Democrat-run cities across the country, which pulled the curtain back on hypocritical elite communities that wanted zero to do with illegal aliens in their neck of the woods.
Abbott launched Operation Lone Star, a multi-agency effort, in March 2021. As of January 12, 2024, the operation had led to more than 495,400 illegal alien apprehensions and more than 38,300 criminal arrests, with more than 34,700 felony charges. And in the fight against the fentanyl crisis, Texas law enforcement officers had seized over 453 million doses of the lethal drug through its border mission.
In other words, don’t mess with Greg Abbott.
In a Tuesday press release, Abbott announced he was designating the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) as foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs), citing both groups’ ties to Islamic extremism, and accusing them of seeking to “forcibly impose Sharia law.”
Abbott made no bones about his seriousness in the press release:
The Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR have long made their goals clear: to forcibly impose Sharia law and establish Islam’s ‘mastership of the world.’ The actions taken by the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR to support terrorism across the globe and subvert our laws through violence, intimidation, and harassment are unacceptable.
Today, I designated the Muslim Brotherhood and CAIR as foreign terrorist organizations and transnational criminal organizations. These radical extremists are not welcome in our state and are now prohibited from acquiring any real property interest in Texas.
Boom. That is, before the lawsuits start flying… then, left-wing judges step in… and — never mind; you know the drill.

Here’s more about both terrorist organizations:
For years, the Muslim Brotherhood has advocated for extremism and been connected to Islamic terrorists. The Muslim Brotherhood, which started as a militant group in Egypt in 1928, has spread throughout the world and is tied to numerous jihadist groups, according to a 2018 Congressional report. The Muslim Brotherhood’s founder, Hassan al-Banna, was outspoken about fighting non-Muslims through jihad and wrote that “Jihad is an obligation from Allah and every Muslim and cannot be ignored nor evaded.” In recent years, the Brotherhood condemned the United States for killing terrorism mastermind Osama bin Laden, and one of its most influential leaders, Yusuf al-Qaradawi, called for terrorist attacks against U.S. troops in Iraq.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, a self-described civil rights organization, has been criticized over its ties to the Muslim Brotherhood. U.S. authorities have also posited that CAIR was established as a front for Hamas. In a 2008 case, which was the largest terrorism financing trial in U.S. history, the council and its co-founders were named as unindicted co-conspirators in a plot to funnel millions of dollars to Hamas. Multiple people who have worked for CAIR have also been sentenced for planning to aid terrorist groups, such as Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
Translation:
Not only are both organizations beyond radical; neither of them has an exemplary track record with their treatment of women — which makes it all the more ridiculous when hypocritical white liberal women in the U.S. protest against Israel and in support of Palestinians in Gaza, and, of course, Hamas.
Abbott’s announcement comes on the heels of the U.S. State Department’s recent designation of four Antifa-aligned cells active in Europe — in Germany, Italy, and Greece — all four of which have been accused of organizing or carrying out bombings, shootings, and other politically motivated attacks, as FTOs.

In addition, Abbott’s action follows plans by a North Texas Muslim group to build a 400-acre residential community, which is currently under scrutiny from both state and federal agencies. The proposed development, led by the East Plano Islamic Center — the state’s largest mosque — seeks to establish a Muslim-oriented neighborhood designed around shared faith and culture.
Yeah, I gotta ask it: What could possibly go wrong?
