Hakeem Jeffries Turns Into a Sputtering Mess When Grilled on Dem Lawmaker’s Jeffrey Epstein Texts – RedState

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (NY-8) struggled to offer a coherent response when a reporter questioned him on why Democrats should be trusted on the Jeffrey Epstein story when a member of his own party was caught texting with the disgraced sex predator during a congressional hearing in 2019.

For a brief background on that, RedState reporter Nick Arama covered the story of Democrat Del. Stacey Plaskett, who the Washington Post revealed was texting Epstein in real-time during the hearing and steering her questioning of an anti-Trump witness at his behest.

To nobody’s surprise, few in the media are talking about Plaskett’s interactions with Epstein, which, in a sane world, would be an absolute bombshell, especially when you consider the delegate received significant donations (and initially didn’t want to give them back) from the man who died in prison that same year while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.

One intrepid reporter opted to confront Jeffries on the matter, however.

“Why should Americans trust you and House Democrats on the Jeffrey Epstein files when one of your own—Congresswoman Plaskett—was found to be texting with Jeffrey Epstein during a hearing, getting information from him, using that in her questioning during a congressional hearing, at one point he tells her ‘good job’?” the reporter confronted.

Hakeem’s non-answer answer should be taught in Deflection 101 poly-sci classes.

Humiliated Dems Forced to Delete Latest False Claim About Epstein and Trump

“This is a bipartisan effort to make sure that, consistent with what the survivors have requested, that there’s full and complete transparency and every single predator that may be in those Justice Department files doesn’t escape accountability,” Jeffries replied.

Not a single mention of Plaskett. The sputtering cadence as he tries to formulate a thought. Complete disregard for the reporter’s question as he smirks through a non-answer.

It’s hard to believe this guy has been compared to Barack Obama, who certainly has some level of oratory skills. Speaking of Obama, one has to wonder if Hakeem is suddenly a little less excited to talk about Epstein after a newly discovered email revealed that a Democrat funding group was reaching out to Epstein about “Brooklyn’s Barack” in 2013.

You say “Brooklyn’s Barack,” we say “Temu Obama.” Tomato, to-mah-toe.

The group requested that Epstein, who had already been convicted in 2008 by a Florida state court of procuring a child for prostitution and of soliciting a prostitute, contact them via email or phone to discuss how he could help Jeffries, whom they referred to as “an impressive guy” who “will be a progressive voice in New York politics for years to come.”

Jeffries probably wants to talk about that email as much as he did the Plaskett scandal.

Or maybe he’s not as enamored with the Epstein files after repeated and numerous backfires on the Democrat attempts to tie President Trump to the late financier.

They tried hiding the name of the victim in their redacted email dumps because that victim was actually someone who had stated under oath that the President never acted inappropriately with her and that she never saw him with Epstein. They attempted to claim that Trump spent Thanksgiving with Epstein, only to have to delete their post on the matter when it was easily disproven. Plaskett got exposed. Hakeem the Dream is now showing up in correspondence.

The House Oversight Committee also released a damning thread that shows just how badly the Democrats’ efforts to bring down Trump through Epstein have blown up in their faces.

Now, President Trump is more than supportive of House Republicans voting in favor of releasing the Epstein files.

Jeffries and his party genuinely thought they had something here. Now they will have to answer questions at some point about manufacturing a false narrative. And it’s probably going to get worse for them, not the President.
