Hammer Drops on British Rappers After Calling for the Death of IDF Soldiers – RedState

The hammer has dropped on a British punk/rap duo called Bob Vylan, who led chants at the Glastonbury Music Festival over the weekend, calling for the death of Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) soldiers.

In a statement on Monday on X, Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said, “The @StateDept has revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants.”

“Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country,” the statement added.

It came after a clip posted on X from SkyNews where the anchor announced that the British rappers had been dropped by their talent agency, United Talent Agency after the duo were seen on a BBC live stream leading thousands at the festival in chants calling for “Free, free Palestine” and “Death, death to the IDF,” as RedState reported.

Shortly after the news, information surfaced that the rap duo’s entire US tour, which included 26 concerts, was canceled.

It all followed the BBC, which issued a statement apologizing for the disgusting video of the rappers calling for the death of the Israeli soldiers.

A BBC spokesperson said: ‘Some of the comments made during Bob Vylan’s set were deeply offensive. During this live stream on iPlayer, which reflected what was happening on stage, a warning was issued on screen about the very strong and discriminatory language. We have no plans to make the performance available on demand.’

After a backlash ensued against the rappers for the hateful comments, the group appeared to double down:

But the musician took to social media early on Sunday morning to address the backlash to his performance. Posing with a tub of pink ice cream, he wrote: ‘While zionists are crying on socials, I’ve just had late night (vegan) ice cream.’

While the rappers might have been laughing, the US Government made it clear they didn’t think it was funny and was thinking about revoking their visas.

A senior State Department official told The Daily Wire that it is “already looking at revocation” of their visas ahead of a roughly twenty-city tour through the United States, with performances planned in several major cities, including Washington, D.C.

“As a reminder, under the Trump Administration, the U.S. government will not issue visas to any foreigner who supports terrorists,” the senior official said.

The DOJ also weighed in on the anti-Semitic comments at the festival:

The chair of the Department of Justice’s Task Force to Combat Antisemitism, Leo Terrell, said his “first call” on Monday morning will be to Secretary of State Marco Rubio to ensure Vylan cannot enter the United States.

“These abhorrent chants, which included calls for the death of members of the Israeli Defense Forces, are abhorrent and have no place in any civil society,” Terrell said in a statement. “We understand that Mr. Vylan is planning to travel to the United States as part of the Inertia Tour. In response, Mr. Terrell’s Task Force will be reaching out to the US Department of State on Monday to determine what measures are available to address the situation and to prevent the promotion of violent antisemitic rhetoric in the United States.”

Good decision by our government. We don’t need this duo spreading more hate in our country.
