Horror as boy, 14, stabbed in UK park with attacker still on loose | UK | News

A 14-year-old boy has been stabbed in park in Birmingham with the attacker still at large. West Midlands Police say officers responded to a group of youths fighting at Meriden Park, in Chelmsley Wood, yesterday afternoon Sunday, August 31.

Dozens of police raced to the scene and a helicopter was seen hovering over the park in Solihull. The incident caused Meriden Park to be cordoned off by police. The teenager was rushed to hospital with stab wounds, his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

One local said the horror incident took place in a residential area by the popular Centurion pub.

The resident said: “By Centurion pub, dozens of police, park cordoned off, helicopter up.”

Police say no arrests have been made and enquires are ongoing. Those with information are being urged to contact the force.

A police spokeswoman told BirminghamLive: “We are investigating after a teenager was stabbed in Solihull.

“We were called to Meriden Park at around 5.40pm yesterday (Sunday) after reports of a group of youths fighting.

“A 14-year-old boy was found with stab injuries and taken to hospital.

“His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone who saw what happened can contact us via 101 quoting log 3226 of 31 August.”
