Horror in quiet street as man, 37, dies after ‘assault’ in UK city | UK | News

A man has died following an alleged assault in a residential street in Cardiff. Police have confirmed the victim, Colm Marcus Boston, 37, from Heath, died on Boxing Day, December 26.

A 51-year-old man from Mynachdy remains in custody. A 47-year-old man from Adamsdown and a 60-year-old man from Cathays have been released on bail pending further enquiries. Colm sustained life-threatening injuries in the alleged assault and subsequently died at the University Hospital of Wales.

His family are being supported by a family liaison officer.

Deputy Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Sergeant Lauren Wells, of South Wales Police offered her “heartfelt condolences” to Colm’s family and thanked the community for the support they have provided.

She said in a statement: “Our heartfelt condolences are with Colm’s family and friends as they come to terms with their tragic loss.

“I would like to thank the community for the support they have provided to this investigation to date and continue to urge anyone with information who is yet to speak to officers to come forward.”

South Wales Police are now urging for anyone with CCTV and/or dashcam footage from Maindy Road, Pentyrch Street, Whitchurch Road, and Cathays Terrace, between 4pm and 6.30pm on Monday, December 22 to come forward.
