A major UK festival has reportedly been shut down after a “stampede” with claims of a stabbing. It’s also claimed that concert-goers were injured in the chaos at the South Facing festival in Crystal Palace, London. Posts online from festival goers on Sunday detailed apparent difficulty with large crowds at the location, with one security official telling revellers the event had been shut down because “people breached the entrance” and “at that point it became too dangerous to continue”.
A video posted on the social media platform TikTok shows a large crowd of disappointed music lovers being addressed from the stage where a man tells them “due to circumstances beyond our control, it has become necessary to close the event early. Please return to your vehicles, or meeting points, and exit the site immediately”.
Express.co.uk have contacted the Metropolitan Police and the festival for comment.
