Brooke Hogan chose not to attend her father’s memorial service in Clearwater, Florida yesterday, despite numerous high-profile wrestling figures being present at the ceremony.
The 37-year-old daughter of the late WWE icon took to Instagram to explain her absence from the service at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park & Funeral Home.

The former singer acknowledged that whilst she appreciated the various tributes organised in his honour, she felt compelled to commemorate him privately in a manner that felt most authentic to their relationship.
Rather than joining the gathering of wrestling personalities and celebrities at the Florida memorial, Brooke and her husband Steven Oleksy opted to visit the seaside with their seven-month-old twins.

The former VH1 personality explained that this choice aligned with her father’s own preferences for the ocean over formal ceremonies.
“The only thing missing today was him in his pop up lawn chair watching the waves… and the sunset,” she shared in her Instagram post.
The beach visit represented a more personal way to remember the wrestling legend, who had passed away from a heart attack on 24th July at the age of 71.
In her heartfelt message, Brooke described taking her infant children to experience the same coastal waters their grandfather had cherished.
“We took our babies to the beach, and put them in the same salty waters you loved,” she wrote directly to her late father.
She noted that her daughter Molly appeared to enjoy the ocean, suggesting she might become a “little fish” – a nickname Hulk had once used for Brooke herself.

The visit evoked powerful memories for the grieving daughter, who reflected that “every grain of sand and every wave reminded me of being your beach baby.”
Her tribute concluded with the words “Rest in heaven, Daddy,” accompanied by a heart emoji.
During a telephone interview on The Bubba the Love Sponge Show, Brooke disclosed that she had requested to be excluded from her father’s estate in 2023.

She became emotional whilst recounting the decision, stating: “I was sobbing. I just said, take me off everything. I don’t want to be a part of it.”
The former reality television personality expressed concerns about potential legal disputes that might arise following her father’s death, particularly involving her mother Linda and Hulk’s widow Sky Daily.
“I don’t want to fight Linda. I don’t want to fight Scientology… it scared me. And I just said, I want out,” she explained during the interview.
