ICE can stay in Minnesota, judge rules

U.S. District Judge Kate Menendez ruled this morning against a lawsuit filed by state Attorney General Keith Ellison seeking to have ICE ejected from Minnesota.

My nonlawyer reading of the judge’s 30-page decision leads me to conclude that it was not a close call.

The Minneapolis Star Tribune reports,

Judge denies effort to bring temporary halt to ICE operation in Minnesota.

The Star Tribune quotes the reaction from U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi,

Attorney General Pam Bondi in a post on X referred to the ruling as a “huge” legal win.

“Neither sanctuary policies nor meritless litigation will stop the Trump Administration from enforcing federal law in Minnesota,” the post said.
