GB News host Martin Daubney has launched scathing criticism of Rachel Reeves’s latest planned inheritance tax raid, branding it “cruel”.
Discussing the move on his show, Martin declared that he “works hard so his children can benefit”, but it is being “snatched away” by the Government.

The proposals are part of Chancellor Rachel Reeves’s plans to plug a £50billion hole in the public finances ahead of the autumn Budget.
Discussing the plans on GB News, Martin fumed: “More and more people are getting dragged into this net now. They even estimate if they do all this it will only bring in £14billion, and that’s a lot of money, but that’s half of the Chagos giveaway.
“The Labour force seems to be spending like a drunken sailor, and they’re taxing people who’ve worked their entire lives and want to, and rightfully should be able to pass it on to their children to give them the benefit of life. I work hard in my life because I want my kids, the next generation, to benefit, that’s the point of human life.
“This has been snatched away by the Labour Government. It feels cruel.”

Noting Labour’s increasing financial black hole, GB News Senior Political Commentator Nigel Nelson argued that Rachel Reeves needs to “get the money from somewhere” to plug the deficit.
Nigel explained: “Well, Rachel Reeves has got to get the money from somewhere, so she’s quite clearly exploring different ways of doing it. So inheritance tax is under consideration.
“All that would mean, and it depends where the cap lies, would be capping the amount that you can give seven years before you die. What we don’t know, obviously, is what kind of level they’re thinking about that cap biting at.”
Criticising Labour policy, Martin told Nigel: “Rachel Reeves loves taxes, she likes raising them. If you’re a farmer, we’ll take your farm. You’re a pensioner, we’ll take your Winter Fuel Allowance.

“Meanwhile, they won’t cut any benefits to those who sit on their there backsides all day. This is the party that takes from the workers and gives to the work shy.”
Nigel then argued: “What they’re doing is protecting workers with no rise in income tax, VAT or employee National insurance. That’s what they have promised.
“Breaking a manifesto promise is pretty serious for a party, especially one that’s only been in for just over a year by the time the Budget comes round.
“Wealth taxes, gambling taxes, there are other things that you can add on to this inheritance tax.”
