Insane moment Russian blown up trying to stop Ukraine’s ‘Pearl Harbour’ attack | World | News

A video captures the moment a Russian man is blown up after entering a truck containing Ukrainian drones, used to attack airbases in the country. Ukraine scored a spectacular success after launching mass drone attacks on Russian airbases on Sunday.

The deadly UAVS were hidden in the roofs of a number of trucks parked close to the military airfields. The audacious Ukrainian operation was more than a year in the planning and succeeded in destroying some 40 Russian strategic bombers, according to Kyiv.

Some of the bases struck were located thousands of miles from Ukriane’s border in the Arctic and Siberia. The attack was soon dubbed as Russia’s Pearl Harbour by media commentators in the country.

It represented a massive intelligence failure on the part of Russia’s formidable security services. President Putin was reported to be furious as he launched an inquisition into those responsible for the debacle. Russian passers-by were stunned to see the drones emerge from the tops of the trucks, with some going to investigate.

In one video clip shared to social media channels, a man enters a truck’s container to find out what is going on.

Within a few seconds of entering, there is a huge explosion and the truck is engulfed in flames, presumably killing the man inside.

Another video shows a Russian driver climbing on to the roof of another truck and attempting to knock down the buzzing drones with his bare hands.

Experts believe that the drones were not remotely controlled and were trained using AI to recognise the shape of the plane and then to deliver their lethal payload.

The bombers were used to launch aerial bombardments of Ukrainian cities, which have resulted in scores of civilian being killed or injured.

Most of them were built in Soviet times and are no longer in production, making it impossible for Russia to replace them.

Putin vowed to avenge the attack in a phone call with US President Donald Trump on Wednesday.
