Iran, the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism, despite having its nuclear weapons program disassembled by Israeli and American explosives, is still run by the mullahs. And those mullahs’ mouths are still writing checks their butts can’t cash.
In the latest, Iran has now placed a $40-plus million bounty on President Trump.
An Iranian movement has reportedly raised more than $40 million for the assassination of President Donald Trump, as the country’s senior religious clerics make clear that “every cell of the resistance in the West is charged with carrying out this sentence.”
Iranian leaders recently issued two death warrants, or fatwas, against Trump and deemed him an “enemy of Allah” who must be killed. Those calls prompted the creation of a new organization dubbed the “Blood Covenant,” which claims to have raised nearly $40.3 million for the president’s assassination, according to the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
It’s unclear why they chose the name “Blood Covenant,” but if I had to guess, I’d guess it’s because it sounds scary. And let’s be honest, Iran’s primary weapon, not counting its various client groups (Hamas, Hezbollah) that do the dirty work, has always been hot air.
But this oh-so-scary group is apparently operating with the consent of the Iranian government.
The Blood Covenant operates “under the aegis of the Iranian regime” and poses a substantial threat to Trump given Tehran’s resources and coordination on the matter, according to MEMRI, which monitors jihadi movements in the region.
“The fact that these calls to assassinate Trump are coming from above and being echoed in the street and through all strata of society, including in the Iranian media, underlines the depth and uniformity of the regime’s institutional incitement,” MEMRI wrote in its analysis. “It reflects a broad religious and regime consensus strengthened by reiterated emphasis of the reward anyone carrying out the punishment against Trump can expect to receive—in addition to the $40.3 million, also Paradise and the status of a defender of Islam.”
Now, hang on – given the penchant for these kinds of idiots to self-detonate in the execution of their tasks, what good is that $40 million going to do them? Of course, this may be a feature rather than a bug. Not only would Iran be well rid of a useful idiot who may otherwise have been causing them some kind of trouble or another, but they’ll save the “Blood Covenant” from having to shell out that cash.
This raises the question: Will that reward be taken off a pallet of American cash that was sent to Iran by Barack Obama?

Now, consider for a moment if these lunatics were somehow successful. Perish the thought, but consider it. What would happen then?
We can only assume that the reaction of the United States, after what can only be described as an overt act of war by an organization operating under the aegis of the Iranian government, would be 1) vigorous, and 2) kinetic. The new President Vance would be looking to count coup, Secretary Pete Hegseth would become the Secretary of War in full measure, and things would get very real very quickly. And not to Iran’s benefit or advantage.
This kind of thing, the assassination of a president by a foreign power, hasn’t happened before here in the United States. Nor is it likely to now; this kind of thing from Iran is generally meant for domestic consumption, to show the Iranian people that their government isn’t what they appear to be: Failing, aging, bombastic, all turban and no cattle. But if they even attempted such an act, well, then it would be a case of “be careful what you wish for.”
