Iranian protester hits out at ‘two-tier policing allowing hardcore Islamists’

An Iranian protester has hit out at “two-tier policing” in Britain while a fresh wave of demonstrations descend on central London.

Last Saturday, tens of thousands of British Iranians and pro-democracy supporters marched through the city’s streets to demand the proscription of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and urge the UK to cut ties with Tehran.

One individual removed the Iranian flag from the embassy after clambering across several balconies to reach the hoisted banner, who has since been arrested.

Ms Moo said: “This is the behaviour that is imposed on or encouraged to the police by perhaps some actors who are in favour of the Islamic Republic.

“Because shutting down conversation, shutting down expression and shutting down assembly is the behaviour and attacks of the regime in Iran.

“To have that take place here in London, in Kensington, of all places. It’s disappointing. It’s appalling. And I must say I’m very, very, very disappointed.”

Asked why Britain has become the “battleground for the world’s issues”, the activist added: “That’s what the Iranian diaspora also wants to know.

“Why is the UK Government allowing IRGC operatives have good lives in the UK?

“Why is it that our lives that are in danger less important than the appeasement to the IRGC and their operatives in the UK?

“The IRGC is a dangerous and menacing force in Iran and in in the international community. Why should they have the privilege and diplomatic immunity or all kinds of freedoms in the UK to operate?

She explained the reason why she has urged Britain to push for the proscription of the IRGC is because it is detrimental to British life.

She explained: “When British young men are and young women are being indoctrinated in the darkest ways… We’ve seen the propaganda machine that has been at play during the pro-Palestinian movement in the UK.

“Antisemitic chants after antisemitic chants, anti-British chant after that.”

The protester recalled the time she was arrested in January 2025 over her involvement in what she described as the biggest London demonstration against the IRGC.

She recalled: “I was arrested last year after getting attacked by a mob of pro-Palestinians and having my property destroyed.

“I was arrested, and even though I had a lawyer, I was held in custody for 12 hours because I was saying Hamas is a terrorist organisation.

“And apparently this was unappealing and disrespectful to the pro Hamas supporters who were present at that demonstration on January 18 last year.

“So there are these double standards for two-tier policing against freedom of expression and against Iranian people who want to have UK security at the highest standards.

“We have sought refuge in the UK because we wanted to feel safe and away from the terrorists who are hurting our families in Iran and who were hurting us in Iran.

“To have them operating and being constantly given more and more opportunities to be hardcore and Islamists because of so-called Islamophobia protections, is putting my life in danger, is putting your life in danger and all of your viewers’ lives in danger.”
