As President Trump moved to take temporary control of the District of Columbia metro police department, Democrats responded as one: Trump is an authoritarian! Of course, this is one of their most familiar themes, and we see it whenever Trump attempts to engage in law enforcement in fulfillment of his constitutional duties.
Yesterday I was on the American Experiment podcast to talk about the situation in D.C., and the Democrats’ charge of authoritarianism. I have written a bit on those subjects here, but if you are interested in more, my appearance and that discussion began at 27:04, which is where the video below should start playing:
The David Zimmer piece that Grace refers to at the beginning of that clip is here.
The first half of the podcast is interesting, too. It takes off from the organization’s recent presence at Minnesota’s Farm Fest, and addresses Tim Walz’s attempt to portray himself as a country boy. If you are interested in Walz, a likely presidential hopeful in 2028, you might want to take in this part of the podcast, too. The graphic that accompanies the podcast, featuring Walz, is iconic, as well!
