Vice President JD Vance’s decision to escort political activist and radio host Charlie Kirk’s casket home to Arizona has been a touching moment, though heartbreaking as we see one of the most powerful men in the nation escorting his friend’s casket after an act of senseless political violence.
The Vice President took it one step further by helping carry the casket into Air Force Two.

One can only imagine the emotions running through Vance’s heart as he flew on the same plane as his friend. For the Vice President of the United States, it has to seem like an unreal, impossible moment to experience.
Kirk was killed for championing conservative ideals and promoting free speech and open debate. Morbid as it is to say, one would expect politicians to be targets of horrific political violence. Not a political activist whose only crime is publicly debating people who disagree with him.
As of this evening, Air Force Two has safely landed in Phoenix, Arizona, with Kirk making his final journey home.

“Charlie Kirk was a true friend. The kind of guy you could say something to and know it would always stay with him,” JD Vance said yesterday.
