JD Vance has announced he will host “The Charlie Kirk Show” from the White House to “pay tribute” to his friend, who was assassinated last week.
The show will air at midday less than a week after Mr Kirk’s death.
The Vice President had been close friends with the Turning Point USA founder for many years, with their friendship forming before he even became involved in politics.
Mr Vance was one of the pallbearers for the journey returning Mr Kirk’s body home after he was shot during a college campus visit in Utah.

In a letter which the US Vice President shared after the 31-year-old’s death was announced, he reflected on their friendship.
He said Mr Kirk had been one of his most dedicated advocates, and had helped his journey to becoming Vice President.
Mr Vance learned his friend had been shot over text during a meeting in the West Wing.
Many messages were then sent in groups where Mr Kirk was included, telling him they were praying for him.

Mr Vance wrote: “God didn’t answer those prayers, and that’s OK. He had other plans.
“And now that Charlie is in heaven, I’ll ask him to talk to big man directly on behalf of his family, his friends, and the country he loved so dearly.”
Writing on social media, Mr Vance said: “Tomorrow, I will have the honour of hosting the Charlie Kirk Show.
“Please join me as I pay tribute to my friend.”
