Convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein continues to ruin lives and reputations and cause intense controversy even though he’s been dead for almost six years. The latest drama to overtake Washington, D.C., comes after the Department of Justice announced Monday that there was no Jeffrey Epstein “client list” and that it was confirmed that he died by suicide in his Metropolitan Correctional Center (MCC) Manhattan jail cell and was not murdered.
Many pundits were not satisfied with that answer.

Now, Wired, a tech-focused news outlet, is reporting that their experts investigated the “raw” footage released by the DOJ of Epstein’s Manhattan Metropolitan Correctional Center cell the night he allegedly committed suicide. (Wired is generally respected for their reporting on technology, but they are also known for their leftist slant in editorializing on matters like technology policy.)
They concluded that the video did not meet the definition of “raw” and showed clear signs of manipulation:
The United States Department of Justice this week released nearly 11 hours of what it described as “full raw” surveillance footage from a camera positioned near Jeffrey Epstein’s prison cell the night before he was found dead. The release was intended to address conspiracy theories about Epstein’s apparent suicide in federal custody. But instead of putting those suspicions to rest, it may fuel them further.
By studying the video’s metadata, they were able to discern that someone had likely put the video into video editing software from Adobe:
Metadata embedded in the video and analyzed by WIRED and independent video forensics experts shows that rather than being a direct export from the prison’s surveillance system, the footage was modified, likely using the professional editing tool Adobe Premiere Pro. The file appears to have been assembled from at least two source clips, saved multiple times, exported, and then uploaded to the DOJ’s website, where it was presented as “raw” footage.
The outlet went out of their way to point out that they had no evidence of any sinister edits or attempts to falsely manipulate the footage. There could be innocent explanations, they wrote:
Experts caution that it’s unclear what exactly was changed, and that the metadata does not prove deceptive manipulation. The video may have simply been processed for public release using available software, with no modifications beyond stitching together two clips. But the absence of a clear explanation for the processing of the file using professional editing software complicates the Justice Department’s narrative. In a case already clouded by suspicion, the ambiguity surrounding how the file was processed is likely to provide fresh fodder for conspiracy theories.
As Wired indicated, there is no proof here of wrongdoing. However, this finding will raise some eyebrows and bring up more questions.
The sick, Jeffrey Epstein saga is the case that just will not go away.
