Joe Biden is undergoing radiation therapy after revealing a prostate cancer diagnosis earlier this year.
A spokesman for the former US President confirmed today he was undergoing the treatment.
“As part of a treatment plan for prostate cancer, President Biden is currently undergoing radiation therapy and hormone treatment,” the spokesman said.
The radiation therapy is set to last five weeks and he has already been taking hormone medication in the form of a pill, a source told NBC News.

REUTERSMr Biden, who turns 83 next month, confirmed earlier this year he had been diagnosed with metastatic prostate cancer.
He underwent a procedure known as Mohs surgery to remove cancerous cells from his skin in September.
His team said the illness was “aggressive” but hormone-sensitive, meaning it was likely to respond to treatment.
A statement, released in May, read: “Last week, President Joe Biden was seen for a new finding of a prostate nodule after experiencing increasing urinary symptoms.
“On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterised by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management.”
