Kamala Can’t Be Bothered to Show Up at Youth Voter Summit, Sends in Lame 2-Minute Video Instead – RedState

I wrote earlier Friday about California Dem Rep. Nancy Pelosi’s slurry, delusional speech at the Voters of Tomorrow “2025 Fight For Our Future Summit!” summit in Washington, D.C. At least the “Speaker Emerita” showed up, though, you have to give her that.

That’s more than you can say about former vice president and failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris, however, because she couldn’t be bothered to appear in person. Nothing better to fire up your base than sending in a pre-recorded video. Maybe she was thinking: “Hey, Joe Biden ran a campaign from his basement and it worked, maybe I’ll try that out.”

It’s not 2020 anymore, however, and she was widely mocked for her uninspiring move. What else exactly was she doing?

While the party scrambles to stop the bleeding with Gen Z, their big solution is….a VIRTUAL speech from the most UNPOPULAR VP in modern history….pre-recorded.

In the library of disastrous Kamala speeches, this one will not go down as the worst. She was coherent—which isn’t always the case—and didn’t repeat herself ad nauseum, which she has been wont to do in the past.

That being said, it was not a powerful message and it lacked specificity; the one concrete item she brought up was the GI Bill of… 1944. Not sure the same circumstances are in play in the modern era, Ms. Harris, but you be you.

And once again, she had that way of talking to the audience as if they were little kids:

Hello voters of tomorrow!

I want to thank you for everything you all are doing to organize empower and advocate for Gen Z. I am so excited about your work. It is critically important that we have organizations such as this that will understand that we must be intentional about lifting up our young leaders and encouraging your ambition.

Watch (and notice how the chryron describes the former VP as “She/Her” in case you were confused):

She goes on to throw vague compliments at Gen Z, and how they’ve “been on the front lines of so many crises”—kind of like almost every generation—and how we need to “invest” more in their future. No details on what that actually means.

I’m sure Gen Z has some nice qualities, but isn’t it a little early to compare them to the “Greatest Generation,” those folks who fought in WWII and basically saved the world?

I think of you the way history thought of the Greatest Generation. Remember, when our country made a decision to invest in their future with the GI bill, affordable housing and economic opportunity. So we’ve done it before, and in this moment, I believe it is time we do it for you. So keep building your political power. Keep building community. Keep building coalitions. Keep challenging the status quo.

And born out of our love for our country, keep fighting to build a country and a nation that works for everyone, and I look forward to continuing in the fight alongside you. [Just maybe not in person.]

You take care.

No wonder she didn’t show up, if all she had was that less-than-two-minute pablum. One reason Trump’s campaign appealed to so many was that he brought specifics: he doesn’t just say let’s create a “nation that works for everyone,” he said “and this is how we’re going to do it. We’re going to shut the border. We’re going to get our fair share in international trade. We’re going to bring back American manufacturing,” and so on.

I still wonder, though, considering there is talk that Ms. Harris may be considering a run to become California’s next governor, or perhaps even another long-shot bid at the presidency. If that’s the case, what was she doing today that was so much more important than trying to inspire young voters?

America dodged a bullet when Donald Trump beat Kamala Harris at the ballot box.

One reason why he won is because conservative outlets like RedState kept bringing you the unvarnished truth, and we didn’t try to gaslight you like the mainstream media did.
