Chilling CCTV footage reveals serial killer Joanna Dennehy ‘flirting’ with male police officers after being detained for murder.
Dubbed ‘Britain’s most dangerous woman’, Dennehy was previously filmed chuckling and bantering at the station in a segment from the ITV documentary, Joanna Dennehy: Serial Killer. In this 2019 programme, presenter Susanna Reid voiced her revulsion at Dennehy’s “utterly shameless” behaviour, with the recording offering a haunting glimpse into the mind of a psychopath at her most deadly.
Dennehy’s appalling tale is now being examined again in a fresh Amazon Prime documentary, Confessions of a Female Serial Killer, available for streaming from today (December 7). This latest programme will delve into how “Britain’s most notorious female serial killer” transformed from mother to murderer.
In 2014, aged 31, Dennehy received a whole-life sentence after admitting to the blade killings of Lukasz Slaboszewski, 31, Kevin Lee, 48, and John Chapman, 56, plus two attempted murders. Astounding footage broadcast in the earlier ITV show demonstrates her “whole series of tricks.”
Forensic psychiatrist Professor Jeremy Coid suggests that she is “reeling in” the police officers using seductive tactics similar to those of a “prostitute at a bar”. A mere 40 minutes after her assault on dog walkers Robin Bereza and John Rogers, who survived, CCTV footage from a Hereford station shows her appearing nonchalant and unfazed.

Serial killer Joanna Dennehy laughs about her murdered victims
Dennehy compliments one officer on his eyebrows before calling him a “decent copper” while running her fingers through her hair.
A stunned Susanna remarks: “She’s laughing, she’s joking, it could even be called flirting. She’s utterly shameless.
“Her behaviour throughout this encounter is fascinating, and the police have given me access to the entire footage, which has never been shown in full. It allows our clearest glimpse into the mind of a psychopath at the height of her crimes.”
As the clip continues, the ruthless killer casually confesses: “Attempted murder and murder. It could be worse.”
Professor Jeremy Coid analyses her chilling demeanour in never-before-seen material.
The forensic psychiatrist notes: “She’s extremely seductive. She has a whole series of tricks.

“There are some things you might see in a prostitute in a bar who will use a similar type of behaviour. She’s flirting with the police officer.
“He’s slightly embarrassed by her. He looks down, and she gives him an extra-long stare; she’s complimented him.
“She runs her hands through her hair. She’s reeling him in.”
During a two-week rampage in 2013, Dennehy murdered three men and attempted to kill two others. At her trial, she showed no remorse for her victims, becoming only the third woman in British history to be handed a whole-life sentence. The body of local landlord Kevin Lee was found half-naked in a ditch in Cambridgeshire.
Dr Jeremy Coid explains: “His body was placed in that way to degrade him and get excitement and pleasure from humiliation of him even after he was dead.”
The day after Dennehy’s arrest, two more bodies were discovered. John Chapman and Lukasz Slaboszewski were found dead in a drainage ditch, following the discovery of Kevin Lee’s remains three days earlier.
Barrister Michael Procter, who represented Dennehy in court, disclosed that she had a certain allure which helped him understand how she could manipulate men into doing her bidding.
He revealed: “If you met this lady in a bar, or a social situation, you would think she had a personality you were quite drawn to, or that was my reaction.

“It was so unusual that I initially wondered whether I’d actually gone into the cell with the right client.”
Five years following Dennehy’s conviction, Susanna also speaks to the father of Dennehy’s two children, John Treanor, who insists that a whole life tariff isn’t adequate punishment.
Dennehy abandoned the family home at 15 to be with boyfriend John Treanor, who was 21 at the time, and claims she became a drug-fuelled rebel.
He said: “She is not my children’s mother – she gave birth to them, that’s all she is.
“She is the donor; she gave them over. I don’t really want my kids to have anything to do with this woman.”

According to the synopsis for Confessions of a Female Serial Killer: “In March 2013, Joanne Dennehy, a mum of two from Hertfordshire, begins a killing spree, brutally stabbing three men to death.
“A few days later, she strikes again, trying to kill two more, picking them out at random as they’re out walking their dogs.
“Now serving a whole life sentence, Dennehy is known as Britain’s most notorious female serial killer, but how did she turn from mother to murderer?”
