King Charles has been urged against meeting Prince Harry when he visits the UK from America next week. The 40-year-old is set to return to attend the WellChild Awards on September 8, which is an event that is attended by Harry every year.
It has been widely speculated that during his visit, Harry could make time to meet with King Charles. The father-son duo have not met in person since February 2024. Meanwhile, the King is also in the UK with no planned overseas trips until later in September.
While the King may be set to meet his youngest son, Prince William is said to have no interest in reuniting with his brother.
In a poll conducted by the Express, which ran between 10.50am on August 29 and 7am on September 2, readers were asked whether they think Harry should meet the King during his visit.
Of the 5,456 people who voted, a staggering 86 percent [4,673 votes] shared that the pair should not meet next week.
In contrast, just 12 percent [666 votes] shared that they should make time to meet, whilst an additional two percent [117 votes] shared that they were unsure on whether a meeting should take place or not.
Taking to the comment section, one fan wrote: “Harry cannot be trusted. If King Charles does meet with him, it would have to be in his role as father only. He has a responsibility to the monarchy to make sure it is strictly a father/son outing…”
Another fan commented: “No no no! Harry hurt his grandparents in their last years, insulted Camilla, betrayed William and Catherine…”
A third said: “Definitely no from me Charles is a weak man if he gives into Harry poor William does all the work and the spare gets everything without lifting a finger so unfair”, whilst a fourth simply commented: “No!”
A fifth added: “This is not that simple. It is about a son who trashed not only his father’s inherited bloodline and history, but his actual inherited royalty and country that he fought for. This isn’t simple…”
