Law Day 2025 | Power Line

May 1 has been Law Day in the U.S. since 1958, when it was proclaimed by President Eisenhower. Generally it is a low-key affair. But this year, liberal bar associations and lawyers’ groups have proclaimed today National Law Day of Action. Demonstrations took place at numerous locations around the country, including Minneapolis. Both the Minnesota State Bar Association and the Hennepin County Bar Association sponsored the local rally.

The “Day of Action” is obviously directed against the Trump administration:

The principles of judicial independence and the independence of the legal profession – cornerstones of American democracy – are facing unprecedented challenges across the country. Attacks on judges for unpopular rulings, political pressure on legal professionals, and a growing distrust of the legal system threaten the very foundation of fairness and equal justice.

Of course, they aren’t talking about attacks on conservative Supreme Court justices for rulings unpopular with the Left, or threats of violence against Supreme Court justices from politicians like Chuck Schumer, or pressure on legal professionals like the ones who had the temerity to represent Donald Trump in 2020.

When we stand together, we send a clear message that the rule of law must be protected.

These same people applauded the greatest violation of the rule of law in American history, when Joe Biden welcomed 10 million illegal immigrants across the Southern border, and they are doing everything possible to frustrate President Trump’s efforts to restore the rule of immigration law. Nor did they express any concern about the rule of law when Democrats brought the most ridiculous prosecutions imaginable against Donald Trump, in an effort to imprison him and prevent him from running for president in 2024.

Yesterday, employees who work in the judicial system here in Minnesota received emails from their bosses encouraging them to attend the Democrats’ Day of Action rally in Minneapolis:

This is one of many ways in which the establishment has dishonestly aligned itself against the Trump administration and in favor of the lawless “resistance” of the Democratic Party.
