NEW YORK (LifeSiteNews) – A “deranged leftist” made her way past security to physically and verbally assault a female U.S. Health & Human Services (HHS) Department staffer at the United Nations General Assembly during President Donald Trump’s address to the international body.
Trump, HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and others spoke before the UN last week on topics including mass immigration, religious freedom, gender ideology, and more.
The Washington Examiner reported that an unnamed HHS official attending in a support role for Kennedy was followed into a restroom, where she was “recorded, physically assaulted, and verbally accosted by a deranged leftist at the UN – who somehow entered the venue past multiple layers of security,” according to a White House statement. The official is safe and the assailant charged with assault, aggravated harassment, attempted assault, and criminal possession of a weapon.
“It was very disorienting,” the official said. “Once I took a step back and regained my footing, it didn’t stop. I realized what was happening. I realized I was being yelled at and that the light was also a recording device.”
A UN spokesperson explained the assailant was an “invited guest” to an event sponsored by an unidentified UN member nation who “had been issued the appropriate authorization to enter the UN premises,” including a “thorough security screening.”
“This is part of a disturbing and dangerous set of failures by the UN after their sabotage of President Trump ahead of and during his speech,” White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said. “The (Secret Service) must investigate how this violent protester was admitted into a major national security event and the UN must answer why these highly concerning incidents continue to happen against the President and his staff.”
Kelly was referring to two technological mishaps the president experienced at the UN, a malfunctioning escalator and malfunctioning teleprompter. Trump’s supporters maintain the incidents were intentional sabotage rather than accidents, and Trump referenced both during his remarks.
“These are the two things I got from the United Nations: a bad escalator and a bad teleprompter,” he said. “Thank you very much.”

The UN has long been a major influence in favor of leftist values around the world, such as pushing a pro-abortion agenda from a pretext of “human rights,” from criticizing nations that ban abortions to attempting to establish an international “right” to abort, all while taking a selective approach to actual human rights violations from offending nations such as China, Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela. It has been similarly biased in favor of population control, climate alarmism, and other left-wing causes.
