Let’s Test Legality of Biden’s Autopen Pardons, and Let’s Start by Charging Anthony Fauci – RedState

As we now know, thousands of documents and pardons weren’t signed by then-President Joe Biden during his disastrous tenure—they were “signed” by a robotic autopen. Both the House Oversight Committee and the White House Counsel’s Office are currently investigating whether they are all legal, considering Ole Joe may not have even known that certain measures were being autographed in his name.

At least one senator doesn’t believe the pardons will stand up to legal scrutiny, and he wants to kill two birds with one stone: challenge them in court, and charge former Chief Medical Advisor to the President and serial fabulist Dr. Anthony Fauci.

The idea is simple: the Department of Justice should charge Fauci with lying to Congress.

Appearing on “The Charlie Kirk Show” Tuesday, the Kentucky senator said the only way to test the dubious pardons is to file charges against someone who received one.

Paul, who is chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee, said on Tuesday’s show, “I do believe Anthony Fauci committed a felony by lying to Congress. So you have to charge him with a felony; take him to court, and then the court will decide whether or not the pardon is upheld.”

Paul added, “You can argue until you’re blue in the face that you can’t do autopens and that maybe the president wasn’t aware of it. But the only way to actually do this is you have to charge someone who has been pardoned.”

Paul believes that out of all the questionable pardons that were issued, Dr. Fauci’s is the ripest for scrutiny:

“I think Anthony Fauci is the most likely to be chargeable. There are other people — Hunter Biden could be charged as well — but someone has to be charged,” said Paul.

Earlier in July, Paul re-issued a criminal referral he had sent to the DOJ regarding the slippery doctor.

Paul has long believed Fauci is a serial liar who flat-out told him falsehoods regarding gain-of-function research in congressional testimony:

Mr. Paul has accused Dr. Fauci, who led the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases during the COVID-19 pandemic, of committing perjury.

The Kentucky Republican first issued a criminal referral in 2021, saying Dr. Fauci lied about gain-of-function research of the virus to Congress. Mr. Paul again reissued the referral in 2023.

Dr. Fauci has maintained in previous testimony that he has never lied to Congress.

Now that there is a new Justice Department, headed by Attorney General Pam Bondi, different action could come.

As someone who has been a fierce critic of Fibbin’ Fauci, I would welcome seeing him face accountability. Meanwhile, legally testing those incredibly dubious pardons sounds like a plan to me. Go for it, DOJ!

Joe Biden, Anthony Fauci and Co.’s response to COVID was one of the biggest unconstitutional power grabs of all time.
