KRON-TV has the story on the newest must-miss theater production to hit the City-by-the-Bay,
Now a musical based on Luigi Mangione, the 26-year-old man accused of gunning down the CEO of a healthcare company in cold blood, is on its way to San Francisco.
“Luigi the Musical,” billed as “A story of love, murder and hash browns,” is due to open in June at the Taylor Street Theatre, formerly the Exit Theatre.
First of all, Luigi’s (alleged) victim had a name, Brian Sullivan. KRON doesn’t get to that fact until paragraph 4. I do hope that Sullivan’s estate sues the theater and the production.
“On its way”? Where was it before, and why wasn’t it stopped there?
Thankfully, for whatever audience turns out, KRON reports that the show is expected to last for only an hour and only five shows are currently scheduled. Fingers-crossed that it won’t be extended. “To die at the Exit” would be the appropriate fate for the musical.
They say that politics is downstream of culture. If so, please show me the Exit.
