Drivers are facing traffic chaos on the M1 this afternoon after a crash partially closed one stretch of the major UK motorway. The crash happened on the M1 northbound between J34 (Meadowhall) and J35 (Thorpe) in South Yorkshire, with two lanes closed . Emergency services, including South Yorkshire Police, are in attendance, while National Highways Traffic Officers assist with traffic management.
An air ambulance was also reported to be at the scene, with one person stuck in the traffic, writing on Facebook: “It is bad. We are close to the front, and the air ambulance has not taken off yet. I pray everyone involved makes a speedy recovery.” Traffic camera footage also showed the air ambulance still on scene after first arriving at around 2.45pm.
