Drivers on the M25 this afternoon face delays of up to an hour if headed towards a stretch of road where a vehicle burst into flames. Traffic is being held on the clockwise carriageway between J22, St Albans, and J23, A1M, while emergency crews tackle the blaze.
National Highways said: “Traffic has temporarily stopped on the M25 clockwise between J22 StAlbans and J23 (A1M) due to a vehicle fire. Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue are working on scene. There are delays of at least 20 minutes on approach.” The agency estimated that congestion will to begin to clear between 3.15pm and 3.35pm.
