Drivers on the M4 are facing rush hour travel chaos this morning, with an oil spill sparking major delays for drivers. There are long tailbacks on the stretch of motorway between junction 12 for Theale, Berkshire, and junction 11 – the A33 link at Reading south – which has been closed as a result of the incident.
A diverted route for motorists through Reading is also heavily congested. This has been sparked by a crash overnight that resulted in an oil spillage. Emergency services are working to clear this. National Highways says: “A full closure has been implemented to allow service providers to work on the scene to resurface the road.”
