A stretch of the M6 was closed after a crash sparked travel chaos and long delays for thousands of drivers.
Two lanes of the M6 were shut northbound between junction 17 at Sandbach and junction 18 at Holmes Chapel, Cheshire.
There were long queues in the area, stretching back for miles. Commuters were warned to expect heavy delays to rush hour.
Traffic monitoring service Inrix said: “Two lanes closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M6 Northbound from J17 A534 Old Mill Road (Sandbach / Crewe) to J18 A54 Middlewich Road (Middlewich / Holmes Chapel).”
Emergerncy services were on the scene and National Highways present to deal with traffic.
