NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani is one of the most singularly focused Democrat politicians I’ve seen in a long time. He often will turn anything, any unrelated news event, any public appearance, into a discussion about the so-called “Palestinian cause,” and how Israel and, via extension, America, is allegedly committing “genocide” against the Hamas (and Hezbollah) terrorists who literally want to wipe the Jewish people and their western allies off the map.
We saw this, for instance, the weekend of March 7th and 8th, when Mamdani’s first words about the attempted terrorist attack by two adult teens – who the DOJ said were inspired by ISIS – on anti-Mamdani demonstrators that weekend at Gracie Mansion, were to condemn… Islamophobia.
“This was a vile protest rooted in white supremacy entitled ‘Stop the Islamic takeover of New York City,” Mamdani proclaimed. “I’m the first Muslim mayor of our city. Anti-Muslim bigotry is nothing new to me, nor is it anything new to the roughly one million New Yorkers who know this city as our home,” he went on to say while merely giving a passing reference to the attack itself, where IEDs were thrown.

Tuesday was St. Patrick’s Day. What did Mamdani do? He promptly made it about alleged Gaza “genocide,” while praising Ireland’s former president, Mary Robinson, who appears to share the Big Apple mayor’s views on the subject:
Mayor Zohran Mamdani on Tuesday compared the plight of the Irish to the “genocide” in Palestine — as he used a St. Patrick’s Day celebration to rip the “deafening silence from so many” on the Israel-Hamas war.
The Democratic socialist dropped the Gaza-related remarks as he hosted Ireland’s former President Mary Robinson for breakfast at Gracie Mansion to kickstart the Big Apple’s annual St. Patrick’s Day festivities.
[…]
Hizzoner went on to laud Robinson, who was the first female president to lead Ireland in the ’90s, for her human rights record and history of standing with the Palestinian people.
“I say this as over the past few years, as we’ve witnessed a genocide unfold before our eyes, there has been deafening silence from so many,” he said.
“For those who have long cared about universal human rights and the extension of them to Palestinians, silence, however, is nothing new, for Palestinians are so often left to weep alone. Yet, former President Robinson has never been silent.”

Needless to say, his remarks did not go over well.
“70% of New York Jews didn’t vote for Zohran Mamdani. Now the rest of the city is living with a mayor who turns every holiday into a platform for attacking the Jewish state in the city with the largest Jewish community outside Israel,” author/Substacker Samantha Ettus pointed out.

“New Yorkers are left wondering—what does any of this have to do with St. Patrick’s Day?” another X user wondered:
🚨 At a St. Patrick’s Day pre-press conference at Gracie Mansion.
NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani turned what should’ve been a celebration into a full-blown activist rally.

Rabbi Elchanan Poupko was also not amused:
“Resistance” is the same word he and his friends use for the monstrous baby kidnappers and baby killers of Gaza who carried out the atrocities of October 7th.
Mamdani owes [an apology] to both the Irish and Jewish community of New York.
@ZohranKMamdani‘s cynical use of Saint Patrick’s Day and the Irish American community to invoke “resistance” is shameful.

Mayor Mamdani’s repeated use of the “genocide” accusation against Israel is not just wrong – it’s dangerous. It distorts reality and fuels antisemitism at a moment when Jews are already under threat.⁰⁰Leaders who claim to stand for human rights should not use rhetoric that puts…

“Leave it to the New York City mayor to turn St. Patrick’s Day into an antisemitic attack,” Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) observed. “This guy is a disgrace.”
That’s an understatement if I ever heard one.
Editor’s Note: New York City is now facing the consequences of pro-Hamas Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s socialist takeover.
